Erasmus+ IES Pinar de la Reina

ErasmusPlus is the program of the European Union to support education, training, youth and sports in Europe. The IES Pinar de la Rubia takes part in this program from the school year 2018-2019 and during the next school years 2020-2022 we will keep working on a school exchange with four other schools of the European Union:

In our project, during the school year 2018-2019, we began by sharing our German and Spanish European cultural heritage through monuments and social customs. Last school year’s project we worked under the slogan The Earth is Our Travelling Companion, and the objective was to raise awareness about our impact on the environment fighting for a more sustainable plant being aware of our Natural Heritage.

In our current project during the following school years 2020-2022, the objective is to create a Digital European School Magazine where we will collaborate and share the projects and activities that will be carried out in the five European countries that are part of our project.

It is an exchange based on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and respect for human rights. These values are common to the Member States of the European Union in a society characterized by pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men.

The OBJECTIVE of the project is that our students can learn how to:

  • Deal with students and teachers from other countries: Germany, Sweden, Poland, France (Mauritius) and Spain.
  • Communicate digitally (eTwinning, Teams, Skype, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter…
  • Communicate in English and Spanish.
  • Be responsible for a certain project (planning and searching for information on different topics).
  • Write articles and design a magazine.
  • Accept intercultural differences and appreciate them as an advantage.
IES Pinar de la Rubia · Young

The first issue of our European digital magazine entitled Young has been published successfully.

Our ErasmusPlus students have worked together with the other four European partners: Germany, France, Poland and Sweden. They have researched and written all the articles as well as recording videos introducing themselves and their cultures.

Thanks to the creation and publication of the European Digital Magazine, the objectives of our project can be better understood and all the participants in the ErasmusPlus project can enjoy a “Mobility or Virtual trip” through the contents offered by the Magazine:

  • Videos on Students’ Presentations and their city.
  • Influence of the Pandemic on the daily life of the five countries that are participating in the Project.
  • Articles of general interest such as the influence of Social Networks on our society.
  • A space dedicated to Christmas where students have shared recipes for the “Most Typical Christmas Desserts” in each country, and “their wishes” for Christmas and New Year.

The next edition will be published in April 2021 and the topics that the students will work on will deal with economy, education, sustainability, tourism and lifestyle.

Onda Pinar

Onda Pinar Radio is one of the main educational proposals at IES Pinar de la Rubia. This resource gives the teachers the chance to work on activities which are part of the School Linguistic Project, and it helps the students improve their acquisition of linguistic competence.

Onda Pinar is being much appreciated by teachers and students in our school. The use of our school radio has allowed us to work on a wide range of subjects since we started working on our ErasmusPlus project in 2018.
